The "To Better the Man" Scholarship
Originally founded as a literary society, the Omicron chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi values scholarship and the pursuit of knowledge not only during our undergraduate years but also all throughout our lives.
The TBTM Scholarship is our way to give back to the Penn community by awarding qualified gentlemen a scholarship to help aid in their learning.
Alpha Sigma Phi administers the prestigious To Better the Man (TBTM) Scholarship each semester for freshmen and upperclassmen students enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania. The $600 award is intended to help cover the cost of books and supplies for the semester during which it is awarded - or for an ensuing summer session.
The award will be granted to a high-performing individual who shows a dedication to academics and has a track record of meaningful involvement in his school and community. Current Penn students must have a cumulative GPA above 3.0 to be eligible for the award.
*Note: the winner is NOT required to rush or join Alpha Sigma Phi.
